This car must be seen to be appreciated and it can be seen in Santa Barbara, CA I am the second owner and the car was bought new from Wayne Stead Cadillac in Walnut Creek California in February 1984. This car has been a garaged California all of the time and there is no rust that I can find anywhere on the car. It comes with all of the accessories that one can expect on an Eldorado Biarritz so I won't bother mentioning all of them here but I will mention the ones that were optional and were added to this car when it was built, It has power door locks, 6 way power seats for both the driver and front seat passenger, automatic headlight dimming, twilight sentinental, and digital display. I use fully synthetic oil and change it once per year. This engine does not use any oil between changes. The paint is Hatteras blue and the doors and side panels have the original paint. The hood and trunk have been repainted and the color match is remarkably good. I wax the car every 3 months and I hand wash it frequently. WhenI drive it people waive at me and when I park in a shopping cener several people come to see the car and ask questions about it. People frequently tell me that it looks like it is a new car, although a close examination will show that the driver's seat shows some minor wear but nothing that will require replacement anytime soon. Before I retired I owned 2 Chevron stations and was a licensed mechanic. About 200 miles ago I replaced the tires with new Nexen P215/75R15 tires. I also replaced the front rotors and brake pads. The rear were serviced about 3000 miles ago and are now in excellent condition. I replaced the radiator with a new one and flushed the system and added new antifreeze and GM Bars leak. The 4.1liter engine is a V8 and performs well aslong as the radiator is serviced properly. It gets about 22 miles per gallon on the highway and about 15 around town. I have the car insured with Hagerty at a cost of 2.00 for complete coverage for12 months. In order to get this coverage they require that I have another car that is fully insured and my Eldorado must be garaged. I am allowed 2000 miles per year but if I go over that it is not a problem but my premium will increase for the next year. This car is appreciating in value so the cost of ownership is very small. There is one on Ebay now similar to mine for ,000,00 but I don't expect it to sell for that price. There is no warranty on this car so examine the photos carefully. Buyers should be aware that many 38 year old cars are advertised as having 40,000 to 60,000 miles on the odometer. Nothing wrong with that but the average car travels around 10,000 miles per year so that comes to 380,000 miles in 38 years. The only way to be sure is to examine documents for service and state license renewal.UPDATE: I just listed the car and discovered an unfortunate mistake in the Auto Check report. I received a California smog check ion 1/29/2016 and the odometer listing was 45937 which was correct. Two years later when I was required by California law to get another smog test the terchnician mistakenly wrote the mileage down as 17405 when it was really 47405. Then on 1/7/2020 I had to get another smog test and the mileage written on the test sheet was 48317, which was correct. California requires a smog test on older cars every 2 years. At first glance it appears that the odometer was rolled back about 30,000 miles but it was not. I have work orders for work done during that time period and when examining them it becomes obvious that the tech just read the 4 for a 1. The Auto check report states that there is no evidence of odometer rollback. On the Auto Check report the low number is 29 and the high number is 42. My number is 66 way off the scale on the good side.
