    The stationary superheterodyne tube radio receiver “Volna” is designed for auditory reception of telegraph (continuous and tonal) and telephone signals. In addition, the radio can be used in a set of equipment for direct printing facsimile reception.
    The Volna receivers were produced at the Alexander Radio Plant in the Vladimir Region in the USSR. The beginning of production is the end of the 1950s. It was planned as a coherent MF / HF marine and river ship civilian receiver, however, it had a very significant drawback in this quality - the contours were frustrated from the shock loads in the drum.
    The radio receiver is made in the form of a tabletop design in a shielded metal housing according to a superheterodyne circuit on fourteen six-volt finger-type lamps with double frequency conversion. Dual frequency conversion is applied in the ranges 5 to 9.
    The elemental base is lamps (6K4P, 6A2P, 6Zh2P, 6P1P, 5Ts4C, 6N3P, SG3S, A6-3, MN-3) and semiconductors (D2Zh, D2E, D102).
    (6К4П, 6А2П, 6Ж2П, 6П1П, 5Ц4C, 6Н3П, СГ3С, А6-3, МН-3) (Д2Ж, Д2Е, Д102).
    Range switch - mechanical, drum type. The number of subbands is nine.
    Installation and tuning of the radio frequency is provided manually using a mechanical vernier. The Vernier four-section KPI has four stages of deceleration. Each stage consists of two gears with a gear ratio of 1: 3. The vernier design is completely backlash-free due to the fact that the teeth of the drive wheels of each stage are jammed between the teeth of the two driven wheels.
    Scale - combined with mechanical and optical photo-display of the received frequency with light illumination.
    The receiver provides step-by-step adjustment of the IF bandwidth.
    The input circuits of the radio over the entire frequency range are designed to work from an open antenna of any length. The input circuits of the Volna-3 receiver are also designed to turn on a balanced antenna through a two-wire feeder with a wave impedance of 200 Ohms. The input of the receiver is protected from interference from the radar range, as well as from high RF voltages induced in the antenna from transmitters operating in the vicinity.
    The radio output is designed to connect:
    two pairs of low impedance phones.
    The following radio power options are available:
    - from an alternating current main voltage of 220, 127, 110 V with a frequency of 50 Hz;
    - from a direct current network with a voltage of 220, 110 and 24 V through converters (for the option of supplying from a direct current network, a remote switch of converters is provided in the radio receiver kit.
